Diaconal and Priestly Ordinations in Nairobi: A Day of Missionary Joy

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Nairobi, Kenya, was the setting for a celebration filled with faith and joy for the Québec Foreign Mission Society (QFMS). On this occasion, Joseph J. Oluoch was ordained a deacon, while Michael Nadebu and Rafael Mbuva were ordained priests, all members of our Society.
The solemn liturgy was presided over by the Bishop of Bungoma Diocese, Most Rev. Mark Kadima Wamukoya, and gathered a large community of family members, friends, associates, and parishioners. Members of the QFMS were also present, including our Superior General, Fr. Ergete Tesfaye, along with seminarians and affiliates who joined in prayer and fraternity for this meaningful moment.
The celebration was a true witness to the vitality of mission and the commitment of these three brothers who generously responded “yes” to God’s call to serve the Church and proclaim the Gospel among peoples.
With gratitude, we raise our thanksgiving to the Lord for the gift of these vocations and ask the missionary community to continue supporting them with prayer and closeness as they begin this new journey at the service of the mission ad gentes.
