Opening of the second stage of formation was celebrated at two of our formation houses

During the month of September, the opening of the second stage of formation was celebrated at two of our formation houses: the CFM in Nairobi, Kenya, and Casa Emaús in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

In Kenya, the opening took place on September 7. This year, the following will take part in this stage of formation:

Antony Musyoki, Stephen Musomba, Patrick Kipngetich, George Kavatha and Kelvin Makau.

The Eucharist was presided over by the newly ordained Fr. Joseph Jalang’o, pmé, accompanied by Fr. Juan Ramón Moncada, pmé, and the newly ordained Deacon Denis Kioko.

In Honduras, the opening ceremony took place on Saturday, September 12, at Casa Emaús. Beginning this year of formation are:

Luis Pacaya (Peru), Rosa Lizárraga (Peru), Wesley Almeida (Brazil), Victoria Serón (Honduras), Karen Barahona (El Salvador) and Dimas Claros (El Salvador).

The Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Guido Charbonneau, pmé, accompanied by Fr. Andrés Dionne, pmé.

During the same celebration, Luningning Alvarado, an associate lay missionary of the Quebec Foreign Mission Society from the Philippines, also renewed her missionary contract. With this renewal, Luningning will continue sharing her life and missionary service in Honduras for a few more years. We give thanks for her availability and for this renewed commitment to the mission and to the communities she accompanies.

Both celebrations brought together members of the local groups of the Quebec Foreign Mission Society (SME), as well as friends and affiliates, who accompanied with their presence and prayers this new step in the journey of formation, discernment and preparation for the Ad Gentes Mission.

We give thanks to God for the openness and availability of these young people and entrust them to Him during this new stage, praying that they may continue to deepen their calling and grow in their readiness for mission.
