For the year

2009-2010

  1. First stage with the PIFM.

In first year, we began with 14 candidates and 8 of them completed the 9 week-ends of formation. Three of them will continue with us, the SMÉ

(Jean-François is a self-taught silviculturist and agriculturist, André is an industrial engineer and a student in import-export, while Monica has just obtained her master’s degree in education at the Ottawa University). The others are connected with the MIC, the SMNDA and the Consolata community.

In second year, we began the year with 8 candidates and 5 of them completed the 10 week-ends of formation. 2 of them will continue with the SMÉ at the CIFM : Raymond Desrochers, director of our  International Center for Missionary Formation, and Hervé who has a master’s degree in redaction/communication. For the time being, the 3 others will live their mission here in Québec: 2 young ladies, an horticulturist and the other one, literature student, while the third one, a young man, is in the hotel business.

  1. For next year first stage, there will be as usually 3 modules of 3 week-ends each: one module on personal identity, another module on spiritual identity and a third one on the missionary identity. For the second year, 10 week-ends instead of nine : 3 week-ends about sociology and mission, 1 week-end on affective and relational maturity within an intercultural adaptation and 4 week-ends on the spirituality of the mission, plus a final integration of all those sessions followed by a decision taking : do I go on or not with my formation for the mission abroad.
